The Equalizer – adalah sebuah film yang diangkat dari serial televisi di era 80-an. Robert McCall (Denzel Washington) seorang mantan komando operasi hitam yang telah memalsukan kematian untuk dapat hidup tenang di Boston. Suatu ketika, Robert dipaksa kembali mempertaruhkan hidupnya demi nyawa seorang gadis. Ia ingin melindungi dan menyelamatkan nyawa gadis muda bernama Teri (Chloe Moretz). Namun, aksi penyelamatan ini ternyata tak semudah bayangan Robert. Teri ternyata terlibat dengan mafia Rusia yang kejam dan membuat Robert ikut terseret di dalamnya.
